McKay Strengthens Marine Engineering Capabilities For 2019

Ashley Owen is a chartered engineer and joins McKay following a distinguished career in the Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN) where she gained 14 years’ service as a Marine Engineering Commissioned Officer. Ashley brings strong skills and experience in Marine engineering (Mech and Elec) and project management and has a track record in managing high-performing technical teams.

James Morfee joins McKay with over 10 years marine experience in both the defence and superyacht markets supported by impressive technical qualifications in Electrical Engineering specialising in electrical propulsion.

“The growing local and international demand for our capabilities, particularly in the new Electrical propulsion projects, Marine refits and design services for new builds, is out striping our ability to supply. Our appointment of these talented individuals will help us meet this demand, allowing us to excel in providing expert electrotechnology services to the marine market. We are delighted to have people of James’ and Ashley’s talent, qualification and experience joining our already skilled team. These added capabilities, coupled with our existing infrastructure and expertise, will allow the McKay team to offer even higher levels of service and capability – including full project management. We are extremely excited to see McKay’s Marine division go from strength to strength and look forward to what 2019 brings for the company” Says head of McKay Engineering services Andreas Zaugg.
