McKay were engaged directly by Northland DHB to source, supply, install and commission six new EV fast chargers for their recent procurement of Renault Zoe EV’s.
The scope included an engineering review of the existing switchboard and cable tray intrastructure, which showed that an upgrade of the MCC was required in order to power the six chargers at once. Once installed, McKay provided cable support to both the interior and exterior to the building in which the charging points were mounted. As the location of the charging points was in the public domain, McKay also sourced and supplied lockable enclosures which would enable the JuicePoint chargers to be wall mounted without risk of vandalism or accidental damage.
During the commissioning phase, McKay worked with the equipment supplier to ensure user and billing settings were optimised for the client via the Juicepoint app and RFID tag system.
