Project Administrator (Part-time)

We are seeking a pro-active administrator with excellent project administration and document management skills to assist with our NZICC project.  This position is fixed term for the duration of the project.   Hours of work will be 20-30 hours per week, Monday to Friday.  We can be flexible for the right candidate.  This role will be based in the Auckland CBD area.

 

You will be required to:

  • Provide administration and secretarial services to the Project Manager and Commercial Manager;
  • Support project staff when required;
  • Maintain project documentation and registers;
  • Assist in the preparation, collation and distribution of project reports;
  • Process timesheets and liaise with Payroll on any issues;
  • Maintain competency register and ensure training records are kept up to date;
  • Order stationery and other office requirements.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Strong administration experience
  • High level of MS Office software packages (i.e. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
  • A flexible, can do attitude
  • Excellent organisational abilities
  • Time management to ensure deadlines are met
  • Professional communication skills

Supervisor

McKay Limited – South Waikato – Waikato                                              

McKay operates a maintenance contract for Electrical, Instrumentation and Control System Engineering for OJI Fibre Solutions on the Kinleith and Tasman Mill locations. We are looking for an experienced supervisor to join our maintenance team at the Oji Fibre Solutions Kinleith Mill near Tokoroa.

You will be responsible for providing efficient co-ordination and supervision of electrical and instrumentation resources on site. If you are a highly motivated, energetic, quick thinking individual with the ability to effectively lead a team and to ensure all work, contracts and project plans are carried out to required levels of service, then we want to hear from you!

To be successful in this role you require:

  • Instrument and /or Electrical Trade qualification with appropriate registration with the EWRB and a current practicing license
  • 5 years experience in heavy industries, pulp and paper industries preferred
  • Supervisory experience in a relevant role
  • A current driver’s license

Software Engineer

McKay Limited – Whangarei

McKay is a well established and fast expanding electrical engineering company with its own specialist software team – McKay Software. We are looking for a talented and an experienced software engineer to join our team, based in the lifestyle location of Whangarei, approximately 2 hours north of Auckland. This development role will include the following tasks:

  • Scoping, designing and planning web application development projects
  • Troubleshooting of live web applications mostly in engineering environments
  • Building and maintaining test frameworks
  • Management of infrastructure (load balancers, server provisioning and deployment)

Our ideal candidate would:

  • Have 2-5 years development experience or the ability to walk on water
  • Have relevant tertiary qualifications (Computer Science degree, or similar)
  • Solid PHP/MySQL/HTML/CSS/JavaScript Full Stack Web Development experience, with a preference given to back end developers.
  • Experience with the laravel framework or something similar.
  • Experience with API development and comfortable with 3rd party API integration.
  • Have excellent problems solving skills, an eye for detail and a sense of humour!
  • Preferably be able to start immediately.

E & I Control Systems Engineer

As a result of growth and increasing demand, an experienced E&I Control Systems Engineer is required for our existing Electrical and Automation engineering team in BOP. In this role you will be directly involved with a number of diverse and exciting projects for New Zealand and overseas clients.

The company is unique in being able to offer a complete instrumentation / electrical engineering, automation and installation package, from conceptual design, build and commissioning through to maintenance and support contracts.

 

As an experienced, hands-on, engineer you will:

  • Have experience in a variety of industries, preferably including paper and pulp, water treatment, dairy, power generation and distribution, or infrastructure.
  • Have experience in PLC, SCADA, telemetry and HMI programming, communication solutions, and integration with 3rd party software and databases, preferably across various different vendor platforms.
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of control systems communication networks and protocols such as Modbus, Foundation Fieldbus, Ethernet/IP, Devicenet, Profibus
  • Have experience with installation and maintenance of electrical control and instrumentation in hazardous areas
  • Be passionate about the latest available technology in the area of automation and control.
  • Be able to work in a team environment with a wide variety of engineers, technicians, and project managers.
  • Be able to take a project from initial concept design phase to commissioning
  • Take ownership of your projects.
  • Have excellent diagnostic skills, and well developed processes for checking the accuracy of your own and others work.

Predominantly you will be working from our Kawerau based office, however must be prepared to occasionally work away to commission your project and provide technical support to our clients.

 

The person we are looking for will possess:

  • NZ electrical registration and a current practicing license
  • A current NZ drivers license
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The desire and ability to work autonomously
  • The ability to manage their workload effectively
  • A commitment to continuing educational opportunities
  • A proven track record in planning and delivery of services and projects on time and to budget

You will also have an appropriate tertiary qualification in electrical or related technology, at or equivalent to degree level with at least 5 years relevant industry experience.  However, consideration will be given to those with considerable practical industry experience in automation and control.

McKay operates a maintenance contract for Electrical and Instrumentation for OJI Fibre Solutions on the Kinleith and Tasman Mill locations. We are looking for an experienced dual trade technician and industrial electricians to join our team. Successful applicants will get the opportunity to undertake a wide variety of both installation and maintenance work for a variety of clients and sites including the Oji Kinleith mill site in Tokoroa.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure all electrical, maintenance and testing is carried out to the highest standards of safety, quality and service.
  • Ensure all instrumentation maintenance work and testing is carried out to the highest standards of safety, quality and service.
  • Liaise with supervisor and planners to ensure work targets achieved.
  • Ensure all relevant documentation is completed accurately and on time.
  • Provide input into assessing apprentice’s training needs as appropriate.
  • Compliance with McKay’s H&S policy and procedures.
  • Be engaged in providing feedback and undertaking maintenance delivery improvements

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Industrial Instrumentation Trade Certificate or National Certificate in Industrial Measurement and Control Level 4
  • Trade Certificate or National Certificate in Electrical Engineering Level 4
  • Current full electrical registration and practicing license
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in heavy plant, ideally pulp and paper
  • Hazardous area installation and maintenance experience desirable.

Applicants with suitable single trade qualifications with relevant experience and / or are part way through gaining the second qualification with relevant experience may be considered.
