NZ Ministry of Defence presents McKay with plaque as thanks for McKay's contribution to the Inshore Patrol Vessel project.
On the 29th May 2009 Gary Collier, the MOD programme manager for Project Protector, presented McKay with a plaque bearing the crests of the RNZN's four new inshore patrol vessels, Rotoiti, Hawea,Pukaki, and the Taupo. On the same day the Taupo was formally handed over to the navy.
McKay was the prime electrical distribution systems contractor for the project which spanned the period from 2005 - 2009.
